Today we needed to cover up the 7th floor with plastic. It took us pretty much all day to cover up the 7th floor and to take the rest of the equipment back to school. By the time we moved the scaffolding to the last bay, we were seriously professionals at taking it apart and piecing it back together. Luke was pretty much the pioneer for taping the plastic to mural (because he was mainly the only one who could reach the area! haha) It was quite a productive day, and what a way to finish! Wow, lots going on today. Finding something to work on is almost becoming hard to do we are so close to being done. Micah and I did a happy dance today when we peeled almost the last bit of tape away from our final shape in the Doom Box. We need to touch up one more shape and the entire box will be finalized and peeling-free! Hopefully I didn't just jinx it. I brought cookies in to celebrate.
The construction boys are working on removing the dance floor (the temporary floor they had held up by scaffolding that ran parallel with the 7th floor), so we were able to get our first glimpse of all four floors worth of boxes on one side of the stage. That's so unbelievably exciting!
We were featured on NBC Action News this week. They interviewed our very own Andrea "Mo" Morris, and they used a picture from our blog that I took on day 21 which was super cool to see. They even mentioned the blog, though the link they gave takes you through the school's site and you have to filter through all the other silly blogs that our school has/facilitates. Wish they gave this link since I didn't even really know that the school was posting my posts in their blog... Meh.

I started working in the box again. How many times have we heard that now? How about "it started peeling again.?" Well...... The dang box starting frickin' peeling again. I took up most of the dark green again and will have to finish scraping and GAC it AGAIN tomorrow. Grumble sigh complain. On a positive note, Jake was drinking a juice box today which totally made my day better.
Seven looks more and more complete every time I venture up there. The glass on the outside is still coming along really nicely.
We're not meeting for the process book this week. Too many people doing too many things.
The dance floor was looking pretty empty today. I guess they're really trying hard to start bringing scaffolding down soon. The place is going to look naked, empty, and HUGE once it all comes down I think. It'll be weird never seeing it around again, or hanging stuff off of it.... weird. I guess I should enjoy it while it's still around.
Cha. I hate painting with blue. The seventh floor is DEFINITELY at least 10 degrees hotter. I know I've said that before....... but it's still true. The end :D
I don't know how I keep going through days taking only one picture. There is always so much going on and I feel like I'm missing a lot of it! Anyway... We patched our blue spot today, but it peeled right back up. Issue Station indeed. We have one box up on the top floor that's finalized. And as of yesterday there was glass going up on the outside of the building! There will eventually be a HUGE glass wall on the back shell of the Kauffman Center and it's starting to go up. That's incredibly exciting for me. I didn't think we'd still be working there by the time it started going up! I promise to take more pictures tomorrow. Cheers.

Okay, enough of that, on to the good stuff. Uhm........... we're still painting. Ha. No really, we still are. Micah helped me out in my bay today. We got Sick Casper (green) done yesterday and we painted with a very pale green-yellow-white today that Micah dubbed "Nuclear Winter" which I found pretty and appropriate. Didn't take many photos today, but I took a bit of video of Micah talking about the day.
Big day for us out at the Kauffman Center today. We have eight boxes of twenty-four done today. You would think that sounds like we're a third of the way done, but the large boxes upstairs are about double the size, that being said we're about a fourth of the way there. Moshe Safdie came to visit us today, which was a real treat. Tom Ryan from Present Magazine also stopped by. I'm still working on uploading the final third of the video footage I took on day nine so keep checking that post! Cheers.
Day Ten was a Wednesday. As of this day we have two boxes "finalized." By finalized I mean that all the paint is on the walls with just minor, minor touch ups left. It is estimated that by Friday we will have 9 boxes completed. We shall see!
